    • Day 1: Panama City - Panama's warm welcome

      Arrive in Panama City and meet your private driver for a seamless ride to Casco Viejo, the city’s colonial gem. Settle into Las Clementinas, a boutique hotel with family suites and leafy courtyards—the perfect home base to begin your adventure.

    • Day 2: Panama City - Historic colonial Casco Viejo & the Panama Canal

      Set off on a walking tour through Casco’s historic plazas, churches, and colorful streets. In the afternoon, head to Miraflores Locks for a front-row look at the mighty Panama Canal in action—fascinating for kids and parents alike.

    • Day 3: Panama City to Santa Catalina - Coastal escape to Santa Catalina

      Travel west to Hotel Santa Catalina, a beachfront retreat with ocean breezes and family-friendly energy. Spend the afternoon on the sand or in the waves, unwinding as the Pacific horizon stretches wide.

    • Day 4: Santa Catalina - Surf's up on the Pacific coast

      Join a surf lesson on Santa Catalina’s gentle waves, perfect for beginners. With guidance from friendly instructors, everyone has a chance to ride a wave—or cheer one another on from shore.

    • Day 5: Santa Catalina - Snorkeling Coiba’s Reefs

      Set off for Coiba Island, a national park and UNESCO-recognized natural sanctuary that boasts some of Panama's best snorkeling. The reefs around Coiba have the widest variety of coral species in the country, in addition to impressive schools of tropical fish, sea turtles, squid, eels, sharks, dolphin, whales, and much, much more.

    • Day 6: Santa Catalina to Boquete - Into the highlands

      Leave the windswept beaches of the Pacific coast behind. This morning, your private driver takes you north through rolling landscapes to Boquete, where you’ll check into Finca Lérida, a charming eco-lodge surrounded by coffee fields. Spend the afternoon exploring trails or birdwatching right outside your suite.

    • Day 7: Boquete - Cloud forests, waterfalls & rare birds

      Set off on a family-friendly hike through Boquete’s cloud forests, where hidden waterfalls, hanging vines, and playful birds keep everyone engaged. Return to Finca Lérida to relax and soak in the mountain air.

    • Day 8: Boquete - Coffee, from bean to brew

      Take a private tour of Finca Lérida’s coffee farm, where your family will harvest beans, roast them with a local expert, and gain insight into Panama’s coffee culture. The hands-on experience is as fun as it is flavorful.

    • Day 9: Boquete to Bocas del Toro - Caribbean bound

      Fly to Bocas del Toro, then travel by shuttle and boat to Tranquilo Bay Eco Adventure Lodge on Isla Bastimentos. With family bungalows nestled in jungle and sea, your island experience begins with kayaking, wildlife spotting, or a laid-back beach afternoon.

    • Day 10: Bocas del Toro - Island hopping to Zapatilla Cays

      Embark on your private boat tour to Zapatilla Cays, a full-day Caribbean adventure through uninhabited islets and turquoise lagoons. Swim, snorkel, and explore as your guide shares the region’s natural wonders—this is your family’s island dream, made real.

    • Day 11: Bocas del Toro - Day at leisure

      Spend your final full day at Tranquilo Bay however you wish—paddle the bay, walk jungle trails, or relax in a hammock while the kids hunt for hermit crabs. Let the island rhythm guide you into total ease.

    • Day 12: Bocas del Toro to Panama City - Departure

      After breakfast, your shuttle and flight return you to Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport, hearts full from a journey of waves, waterfalls, wildlife, and wonder.

    Know Before You Go

    • Itinerary prices are dependent on season of departure. Christmas, New Years and Easter (Semana Santa) are peak season, and prices during these periods are significantlky higher than other times of year. High season runs from November through April, and green season from May through September.

    • Arrival: hotel check-in times are at 3:00pm, but you may arrive at any time during the day. If you arrive prior to the scheduled check-in time, we will arrange for early check-in wherever possible.

    • Departure: hotel check-out times are at 9:00am. International flights on your departure day should be arranged to depart after 1:30pm.

    • All prices in USD.

    • For vaccination recommendations, please visit the CDC website.

    • For American, Canadian, and British citizens, a valid passport with 6+ months remaining is required for entry to Panama.

    • Debit cards may not work in Central America, but most establishments accept major credit cards.

    • Please ensure you have immediate access to a minimum of USD $250 as an emergency fund to be used if circumstances outside our control (e.g. a natural disaster) require changes to your planned route.

    • If departing Panama by air, all major airlines include exit taxes (USD $40) in the price of your airfare.

    • It is customary to tip service providers (waiters) around 10% depending on service. Tipping taxi drivers is not required.

    • Gratuities for guides and drivers are deeply appreciated, and provide an important supplement to their income. If you are pleased with the tour services you've received, a guideline for tipping in Central America is USD $8-10 per person per day for multiple-day tours, or USD $5-10 per person for day tours.

    Getting There

    From North America: several airlines offer direct and connecting flights to Panama’s international airport: Tocumen International Airport in Panama City (airport code: PTY). Including connection time, flights from the USA typically range from 2.5-9 hours in duration, while most flights from Canada range from 9-15 hours in duration.

    From the UK: there are currently no direct flights to Panama from the UK, but there are several flight options connecting in the United States and/or Canada. Including connection time, flights from the UK typically range from 12-18 hours in duration.
