When to Go
The Galapagos Islands and mainland Ecuador each follow their own rhythm. The Galapagos dry season (June to November) is prime for wildlife lovers. Cooler temps (65°F-80°F / 18°C-27°C), nutrient-rich waters, and peak animal activity make it ideal for snorkeling and nature hikes.
The warmer season (December to May) brings calmer seas and sunnier skies, though brief tropical showers are common.
On the mainland, particularly the Andes, dry season runs June to September, offering clear skies for hiking. For fewer crowds and balanced conditions, consider traveling in May or early December.
