Accommodations
Built in a 19th-century mansion in the historic heart of Merida, Hotel Cigno has one foot in the past and the other in the present. The hotel pays homage to Yucatan heritage, with elements handcrafted by local artisans, traditional pasta floors, and wall coverings made with ancestral local construction techniques. A common thread that weaves throughout the hotel design – from the 10 bright, airy rooms and suites to the lush courtyard and upper terrace pool – is a design schema and color palette that evokes thoughts of Mexican cenotes. Visit hotel website.
Positioned between powdery white-sand beach and thick green jungle, La Valise Tulum delights the senses with the scent of copal incense, colorful traditional Mexican artwork, natural textures, and luxurious textiles. There are 22 rooms with large sliding doors, which open to panoramic jungle or sea views. Outside your room, there is much to be discovered as well – the resort offers a pool, vintage cruiser bikes, a cenote, and a private beach. Visit hotel website. Visit hotel website.
Just a stone’s throw from blissful Bacalar Lagoon, Boca de Agua’s 26 luxury treehouses & suites feature sustainable, authentic design and unusual architecture, tucked within dense greenery. Each treehouse offers guests the unique feeling of virtually floating in the jungle canopy, and suites offer private plunge pools designed for relaxation & privacy – perfect for a couples’ retreat.
