    • Day 1: Panama City - Arrival

Arrive to Central America’s answer to New York – the stunningly modern seaside metropolis of Panama City. You'll be met by a driver to whisk you away to the American Trade Hotel, a luxurious oasis in the heart of the city's colonial Casco Viejo neighborhood. Settle in for some rest and relaxation after a long travel day, or get out to explore Casco Viejo’s charming cobblestone streets on foot.

    • Day 2: Panama City - Cruise the Chagres River in a traditional dugout canoe; experience life in an Embera village

After breakfast, ride up the Chagres River in a traditional dugout canoe to visit an indigenous village surrounded by a breathtaking natural setting. Step back in time on a tour to visit an Embera tribe who still live in traditional villages deep in the rainforest of Panama. Discover their culture and traditions – dances, music, singing, gastronomy, use of plants and flowers as natural medicine, shamanic healing and more – and enjoy a traditional lunch before heading back to Panama City for the night.

    • Day 3: Panama City - Discover Panama City's best and brightest, from historic Fort San Lorenzo to the infamous Panama Canal, to the sleek modern-day skyline and upscale neighborhoods the city is known for today

This morning after breakfast, head to the Corozal railway station to board the Panama Express Train, the only interoceanic railway in the world, and one of the greatest rail journeys still remaining in the Americas. Cross the isthmus of Panama on this historic and atmospheric route that passes through jungle alongside the Panama Canal as you revel in the importance of this track – one with a history that defined Central America. The overland route has been used for over three hundred years; people and cargo were unloaded on one side and crossed overland to the other. By the nineteenth century the growth in global trade and the arrival of steam trains gave rise to a daring plan to construct an interoceanic railroad. After your railway ride, continue your historical adventure at the San Lorenzo Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site set along Panama’s central Caribbean coast, just west of Colón and the Gatún Locks. Recognized by UNESCO as magnificent examples of 17thand 18th-century military architecture, these Panamanian forts on the Caribbean coast form part of the defense system built by the Spanish Crown to protect transatlantic trade.

    • Day 4: Panama City to the San Blas Islands - White sand and clear Caribbean waters in the Cayos Limones

    • Day 5: San Blas Islands - Fresh lobster and a stunning sunset on Chichime Island

    • Day 6: San Blas Islands - Coral reefs and crystalline seas

    • Day 7: San Blas Islands - Starfish beaches and sunken ships

      Day 7: San Blas Islands

    • Day 8: San Blas Islands - Scenic Caribbean surrounds in the Cayos Holandéses

    • Day 9: the San Blas Islands to Panama City - Wander the charming cobblestone streets of colonial Casco Viejo

After a last walk on the beach, transfer back to the airport at Bocas del Toro and board a flight bound for Panama City. Check into the Bristol Hotel, then take a guided walking tour through Casco Viejo, Panama City’s “Old Town”. Wander cobblestone streets, marveling at the beautiful colonial architecture and plazas, as you learn about the rich history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    • Day 10: Panama City - Departure

Feeling fully refreshed and revived, bid farewell to the city, with a quick transfer to the airport to catch your international flight home. Adios!
