    • Day 1: Mountain Pine Ridge - Arrival

Upon your arrival to the airport, you'll be met by a driver and whisked away, down the limestone roads to inland Belize, the heart of the Mayan jungle. Check into the deliciously luxurious Blancaneaux Lodge, owned by American film director Francis Ford Coppola, and settle in for a good night's rest before your adventure begins tomorrow.

    • Day 2: Mountain Pine Ridge - Discover a temple of treasures in the caves of Actun Tunichil Muknal

Today you’ll embark on a journey into Xibalba (pronounced shi-bal-ba), the Mayan underworld. Begin with a trek that will take you through rainforest and across three river crossings before you arrive to the Cave of the Stone Sepulcher, a spectacular cave held sacred to the Maya who began to use the entrance during the Early Classic period. In later years, as a devastating drought swept over the region, the Maya traveled deeper into the cave to conduct ceremonies and ritual sacrifices.

The cave consists of a series of chambers that ends in a large cathedral space where individuals were sacrificed to the gods of the underworld, and where their remains still lie. Travel into the past in this living museum, where skeletal remains and Mayan artifacts still rest as they were originally placed thousands of years ago.

    • Day 3: Mountain Pine Ridge - Ride on horseback to a beautiful jungle vista to watch the sunset

As the sun starts to dip toward the horizon, ride east into the Noj Kaax Meen Elijio Panti National Park to a vantage point surrounded by jungle-shrouded peaks home to jaguars, tapirs, and ocelots. Revel in the evening chorus of birdsong as the skies mellow into tones of orange, pink and purple. Then, as the sun sets over the Maya Mountains, ride back to the lodge.

    • Day 4: Mountain Pine Ridge to Placencia - Mayan plazas & pyramids at Caracol; dine by candlelight

After a hearty breakfast, spend the morning discovering one of the largest Maya sites found in Belize today. Situated high on the Vaca Plateau, cloaked in jungle in the Chiquibul Forest Reserve, Caracol is home to more than 30 000 structures, and was once home to more than 150 000 residents. Climb the massive Caana, or “Sky Palace” pyramid and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over the forest-clad mountains, while learning about this mysterious ancient civilization.

After a picnic lunch at Caracol, head east for the powdery white sand beaches of Placencia. After a stunning Caribbean sunset, settle in for a romantic candlelit dinner, enjoying fresh local fare while you dig your toes into the sand.

    • Day 5: Placencia - Explore an exotic undersea world at Silk Caye

After breakfast, you’re off to one of Belize’s best kept secrets, the blissful Silk Caye. This picturesque little island is surrounded by miles of turquoise waters. Spend your day swimming and snorkeling alongside vibrantly-colored tropical fish, curious sharks, and mingling with spotted eagle and stingrays gliding through perfect, clear water. You may even rub elbows with a turtle or two!

    • Day 6: Placencia - Relax & recharge

This perfect stretch of sand is the perfect spot to relax – beautiful powdery beaches studded by palm trees, and calm, turquoise waters that reach as far as the eye can see. Still, if you’re craving a dose of civilization and a bit of colorful Caribbean flair, take the complimentary shuttle just 15 minutes south to the nearby town of Placencia, where you can sample the local fare and savor an ice-cold beer or a tropical cocktail at a laid-back waterfront restaurant.

    • Day 7: Placencia - Dine on the beach by candlelight

On your last day in Placencia, gear down into ultimate vacation mode and spend the day lounging at your private pool, or if you’re feeling adventurous, walk down the beach or into town. After a final painted sky sunset, head to the beach for a final romantic candlelit dinner to wrap up an unforgettable honeymoon, sipping champagne and dining on Creole delicacies while you dig your toes into the cool sand.

    • Day 8: Belize City - Departure

Bid farewell to the tropics, taking a puddle-jumper flight to Belize City to catch your international flight home.
